Payson & The Rim Country
Payson is small hidden gem located just 75 minutes from Phoenix, Arizona. The town is a perfect quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city life. The drive to Payson is even beautiful and doesn’t have such a large tourist trap making it tough to get around. Payson really is the perfect place to relocate to or just have that second home to escape to.
Payson’s year around population comes to around 15,000 full time residents, and several more during the summer months. Payson was founded in 1882, with one airport located on the north end of the town. Surrounding cities are Pine, Strawberry, Star Valley, Christopher Creek, and The Mogollon Rim. Payson
offers beautiful year around weather, and still getting to experience all four seasons. In the summer you can enjoy any outdoor activity and in the winter snow melts within days if not hours to continue to enjoy the outdoors.
Payson offers a variety of events throughout the year some of which are: The Annual Payson Rodeo, Pony Express, and the Beeline Car Show. Payson being such a close distance to the Rim Country offers a surplus of activities for people of all ages, some of which are biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, swimming, and overall relaxing. Payson also offers several lakes nearby like Bear Canyon, Black Canyon, Knoll, Willow Springs, Woods Canyon, Roosevelt Lake, and more. Payson is also very close to Tonto National Bridge and Fossil Creek which are both beautiful for hiking and swimming.
